2. Spring Century - June 5th, 2004

THREE GREAT LOOPS TO CHOOSE FROM:

50km: A nice relaxing flat route that travels mainly south and north past farms and orchards in the lovely pastoral setting of the Historic Willamette Valley.

100km: Starting in Historic Canby, Oregon the first 16 miles follows the 50km route to your first checkpoint. After refueling turn towards the west and the town of Silverton, heading north takes you through some of the best hops growing region in the state. After you pass Champoeg Park turn back east for the final stretch back to the fairgrounds. There are three checkpoints along this route.

100-mile: Although all routes are relatively flat, you will find a few more challenging hills on this loop. After following the 100km route for the first few miles, you turn east for the town of Molalla where you䴜ll want to refuel because the infamous "hill" on Bird Road is awaiting you at mile post 29. Enjoy the views from the top of Maple Grove Road before descending to the town of Scotts Mills. Travel a few more miles towards the west before turning north where you join up again with the 100km route for the home stretch back to the fairgrounds. There are three checkpoints along this route.

REGISTRATION: Day of ride registration opens at 7:00 a.m. at the Clackamas County Fairgrounds where rest rooms are available. Riders䴜 packets will be at the registration table for those who have mailed in their forms and fees. Registration closes at 9:00 a.m. for the 100-milers and 10:00 a.m. for everyone else. Your entry fee entitles you to a map, rider identification number, souvenir and checkpoint services. When you finish, join other riders for food and drink at the finish line. There are no refunds. Registration confirmations will not be sent prior to the ride.

EARLY PACKET PICKUP: To avoid those long lines on the day of the ride, we will once again have packets available for pickup in advance. The date for early packet pickup will be Thursday, June 5, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church, 4330 NE 37th (by Wilshire Park) off of Prescott.
